1) This field is Self explanatory.  The number of accounts to create.  Type only numbers.  This field is mandatory.  No funny stuff like decimals, letters or fractions, symbols, etc…

2) This field is optional.  If this field is left blank, then the accounts created will start at number 1 by default.  For example, if the account name was Student, then if this field is left blank, it will create Student1, Student2, Student3 and so forth.   You may create the accounts and have it start from any number.  For example, if you would like to create accounts called Student and if this field had the value of 100, the first account it will create is Student100, then Student101,Student102 and so forth until it reaches the number of accounts you specified in field 1.

3) This is the main account name that corresponds to the login name in active directory as pictured in Fig. 3A.  For example, if the value is Student, then the script will concatenate Student with the value you chose in field2 to give you the full name.  As pictured in Fig 3A, the base username is Student and 13 is the number the script created.  The user name should NOT contain any spaces.

4) Field 4 is the OU that you would like to create the accounts in.  For example, in Fig. 4A, I have the Active Directory Users and Computers (ADUC) open and I would like to create the accounts under the old school container. To do so, we must get the object’s D.N (Distinguished Name). This is easy to do.  I use a free tool from Microsoft called Active Directory Explorer which you may download from the website.  In Fig. 4B, I browse to the Old School O.U and when I get the properties on it, I can copy the D.N. which is:

OU=”Old School”,OU=”San Francisco”,OU=Students,OU=California,DC=springfield,DC=test

I would copy the entire value into field 4 but since we have two OU that have spaces in them, we need to enclose them in quotes, so below is what I would actually paste into field 4.

OU=”Old School”,OU=”San Francisco”,OU=Students,OU=California,DC=springfield,DC=test

That’s it !!.  Once you click on Next, it will ask you to verify the information you entered and then it will proceed to create the accounts.  Once done, it will create a text file that lists all the account name with the random passwords.  Currently the password starts with a lowercase letter and ends with a CAPITALIZED letter.  Between these letters are all numbers.  This text file will be located in the same directory where the program is run at.
